NEET PG 2024 Eligibility Criteria.

To be eligible to apply for NEET PG 2024, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Must possess an MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from a medical college recognized by the NMC Act
  • Should have completed a one-year compulsory rotatory internship by August 15, 2024
  • Must be registered with the State Medical Council
  • There is no upper age limit to apply for NEET PG

Foreign medical graduates need to qualify the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by NBE to be eligible for NEET PG. The cutoff date for completing internship for FMGs is also August 15, 2024.

NEET PG 2024 Exam Pattern.

The NEET PG 2024 exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode consisting of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs). The exam duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks and there is negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect response.

NEET PG 2024 Admit Card.

The NEET PG 2024 admit card will be released online on June 18, 2024. Candidates can download it from the official website using their login credentials. Candidates must carefully verify all the information printed on the admit card and report any discrepancies to the authorities immediately. It is mandatory to carry a printout of the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the exam center on the day of the exam.

NEET PG 2024 Result

The NEET PG 2024 result will be declared by July 15, 2024 on the official NBE website. Candidates can check their result online using their roll number and date of birth. The result will include the candidate’s score, percentile, and All India Rank (AIR). Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying percentile as per their category will be eligible for counseling and seat allotment. The qualifying percentile for different categories is as follows:

  • General: 50th percentile
  • SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile
  • UR-PWD: 45th percentile

Along with the result, NBE will also release the NEET PG 2024 merit list which will contain the names and roll numbers of the qualified candidates in the order of their AIR. The merit list will be used for counseling and seat allotment in various medical colleges.

NEET PG 2024 Counseling

The counseling process for NEET PG 2024 will begin after the declaration of the result. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducts the counseling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical colleges while the respective state authorities conduct the counseling for state quota seats. The counseling is done online in multiple rounds where candidates have to register, fill their choices of colleges and courses, and pay the requisite fees. Seats are allotted to candidates on the basis of their AIR, choice of college, and availability of seats. Candidates who are allotted a seat in any round have to report to the allotted college within the stipulated time for document verification and admission formalities.
