SEE Results 2081 to be Published by 27-06-2024: How To Check SEE Result
The long wait is almost over for over 500,000 students who appeared in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) this year. The National Examinations Board (NEB) has announced that the SEE results for the year 2081 BS (2024 AD) will be published by this Friday, June 28th.
Students and parents have been anxiously awaiting the SEE results, which mark an important milestone in a student’s educational journey in Nepal. The SEE, previously known as the SLC (School Leaving Certificate) exam, is the final examination for 10th grade students. The results determine a student’s eligibility for higher secondary education (grades 11-12).

About the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
The Secondary Education Examination, commonly known as the SEE, is a nationally administered examination for students completing grade 10 in Nepal. It is conducted by the National Examinations Board (NEB), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.
Over 500,000 students from across Nepal appear in the SEE each year, making it one of the largest examinations in the country. The exam covers a wide range of subjects including Nepali, English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and elective subjects. Students need to secure a minimum grade point average (GPA) and pass in all subjects to qualify for higher secondary education.
This year, the SEE was conducted from March 28 to April 9, 2024. A total of 504,414 students appeared in the exam, out of which 250,772 were girls, 253,627 were boys, and 15 were from gender minority groups. The exams were held in over 1,900 exam centers across the country.

New Grading System and Curriculum for SEE 2081.
The SEE 2081 was conducted based on a new curriculum and grading system introduced by the NEB. Under the new system, students must score at least 35% marks in the theoretical exams to qualify for higher studies. Students failing to secure 35% in theory papers will be placed in the non-graded category and will not be eligible for grade 11 admissions.
Previously, students could qualify for higher secondary with a combined 35% score in theory and practical exams. However, from this year onwards, theory and practical scores will be graded separately. The new curriculum has also introduced a 25-mark practical component for each subject, including mathematics. Schools conduct the practical exams internally and submit the scores to the NEB.
These changes aim to improve the quality and standards of secondary education in Nepal. Students will need to have a thorough conceptual understanding of the subjects to score well in the theory exams. The focus on practical skills will help make learning more application-oriented.

Grace Marking and Retotaling Provisions.
In case a student narrowly misses the passing score or is not satisfied with their marks, the NEB provides grace marking and retotaling provisions. Grace marks of up to 5 marks may be awarded to students who fall short of passing by a few marks. This is done to give students the benefit of the doubt and help them qualify.
Students can also apply for retotaling if they feel there has been an error in calculating their scores. Retotaling involves rechecking the answer sheet for any totaling mistakes. However, reevaluation of the answers is not done during retotaling. Students need to fill a retotaling form and submit it to the NEB within the stipulated time along with the required fees.
If a student still doesn’t qualify for higher secondary after grace marking and retotaling, they have the option to appear in the supplementary SEE exams which are usually held a few months after the main exams. This gives students a second chance to improve their scores and qualify for grade 11.
Motivational Tips for Students Awaiting Results.
Waiting for exam results can be a nerve-wracking experience for students. The anxiety and uncertainty can lead to stress and even affect one’s physical health. Here are some tips for students to stay calm and motivated while awaiting their SEE results:
1. Focus on the Positives.
Instead of worrying about the outcome, focus on the fact that you have completed a major milestone. Appreciate your hard work and efforts. Have faith in yourself and your preparation. Overthinking will only increase your anxiety.
2. Keep Yourself Engaged.
Distract yourself from negative thoughts by keeping yourself busy with activities you enjoy. Pursue a hobby, play sports, read books, watch movies, or spend time with friends and family. Staying engaged will prevent your mind from constantly thinking about the results.
3. Talk to Someone.
If the stress becomes overwhelming, don’t hesitate to talk to someone about it. Share your feelings with parents, siblings, friends or teachers. Talking helps release pent-up emotions and makes you feel supported. If needed, seek help from a counselor or mental health professional.
4. Have a Backup Plan.
While it’s important to be optimistic, it helps to have a backup plan. Research about alternative options like vocational courses, bridge courses, or repeating a year. Knowing that you have alternatives will make you feel more in control of your future.
5. Take Care of Your Health.
Don’t neglect your physical and mental health during this period. Eat healthy, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep. Avoid turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms like smoking or drinking. Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation or yoga to calm your mind.
6. Celebrate Your Achievement.
Regardless of your exam results, remember that completing 10 years of schooling is a big achievement in itself. Be proud of how far you have come. Celebrate the milestone with your loved ones. Treat yourself to something nice as a reward for your hard work.
7. Learn from Your Mistakes.
If your SEE results are not as expected, don’t be disheartened. Failure is a part of life and provides an opportunity to learn and grow. Reflect on your mistakes and identify areas for improvement. Use the experience to become a better version of yourself.
8. Set New Goals.
Once you receive your results, it’s time to set new academic and personal goals. If you did well, aim higher and challenge yourself to excel in higher secondary. If you didn’t get the desired results, create an action plan to improve your performance. Having a goal will give you a sense of purpose and motivation.
Wishing Students the Very Best!
The SEE is a stepping stone to higher education and a successful career ahead. While the exam results are important, they do not define your worth as a person. Your talents, skills and unique qualities make you who you are.
